Time at Southey: since May 2023

What brought you to Southey?

I’ve lived in the area my whole life, and upon returning from university I loved seeing the changes that were happening. Finally I saw a sense of community that had been missing for such a long time and I wanted to do my best to be a part of that.

What's your favourite beer that we brew and why?

Lazy Jesus, there’s nothing better on a summer day. Crisp, refreshing and super tasty!

What do you like about working here/ what we do here?

I love the community that the taproom creates, it feels like it’s own little microcosm of positivity in the backstreets of Penge, something of a hidden gem and there’s something really beautiful about that.

Is working at a brewery different from what you thought it would be?

Absolutely not! It’s exactly what I imagined and it suits me perfectly.

What do you like to do with your spare time?

I’m an avid football fan, Arsenal season ticket holder, football manager enthusiast, I love thinking about football tactically and discussing it with people. I'm a huge fan of physics, so much so I tried to do a degree in it for fun (no prizes for guessing how that ended) but despite that I’m still extremely enthusiastic about it and large amounts of my time are spent researching and keeping up to date with the latest discoveries in the world of Physics. To summarise, I’m a bit of a friendly all round nerd who loves a good chance to talk about his passions.
